How to set up a DCA In/ DCA Out strategy with CALC
The steps below show both examples of DCA In and DCA Out.
Step 1: Choose Assets
DCA In Example:
Here we have selected axlUSDC as the asset that will fund our new strategy, entering a position of wETH.
DCA Out Example:
Here we have selected Kuji as the asset we are exiting, selling Kuji for axlUSDC.
Step 2: Customise Strategy
Access CALC's advanced customisation options like 'price skips' to maintain full control over your strategy. Here you can set the buy amount each swap, purchase frequency as well as set slippage and a price ceiling.
DCA In Example:
The example directly below is showing our DCA In strategy that will start immediately after confirmation, and it will swap 10 axlUSDC every 2 hours until our funds run out (50axlUSDC will run out after 10 hours). Note: if your funds are running out, you can top them up. But let's continue further down to show you our custom time and date selectors.
Here we can set when our strategy starts with our custom time selectors. You can either start based on date, or start based on asset price.
DCA Out Example:
Similar to the DCA In example above, we have decided to start our DCA Out strategy immediately. Our DCA Out strategy will sell 25 Kuji every 5 days until our funds run out (50 Kuji will last us 2 swaps over 10 days. Note: if your funds are running out, you can top them up. Don't forget, you can still also customise the start time as shown above.
Advanced Features
For DCA In, you can set customisations for price ceiling and slippage tolerance.
Buy price ceiling
CALC will not execute swaps if the price of the asset you are accumulating is higher than the price you set in this field. For example, If the price ceiling is set to $2.00 and the KUJI price rises above $2.00 the swaps that are scheduled to happen will be skipped and your strategy will extend an interval. This will continue until the price drops below the price ceiling.
Set slippage tolerance
If the slippage exceeds your tolerance, the swap will fail, be skipped for that increment and your strategy length will increase by 1 increment. This is automatically set to 2%, but you can change it to anything you like between 0% and 100%. You can see if a strategy failed because of slippage on the "view performance" page of each strategy.
For DCA Out, you can set customisations for price floor and slippage tolerance (see above for slippage tolerance).
Sell price floor
CALC will not execute swaps if the price of the asset you are selling is lower than the price you set in this field. For example, If the price floor is set to $1.50 and the KUJI price drops below $1.50 the swaps that are scheduled to happen will be skipped and your strategy will extend an interval. This will continue until the price rises above the price floor.
Step 3: Compose Strategy
This is where DeFi composability comes into play, you get to choose “What happens next” such as cross chain auto staking. This is the same across both DCA In and DCA Out.
Example:
Below you can see the composability options which dictate what happens to your newly acquired asset after each swap. Note: we will touch on reinvesting and looping strategies later - it gets juicy!
Step 4: Confirm
CALC plays your strategy back to you in simple, easy-to-read terms so that you can be sure of the execution before you approve. Note: make sure you always double check the strategy summary page to ensure you have entered the right details.

Done!
Now you can sit back and relax while CALC does the heavy lifting for you. Be sure to check out the strategy performance page and stick to your strategy long term.
Topping up a strategy
Topping up your strategies ensures that your long term strategies can be - well... long term. You can top up a strategy in 2 simple clicks.
Step 1: Click Top Up
You can top up from either the "My Strategies" page or the strategy "performance" page, both have the option of topping up.
Step 2: Choose your amount and confirm
Input the amount you would like to top the strategy up with, click confirm and then sign the transition. It really is that simple
